Aandal's Thiruppavai

Aandal is a tenth century tamil poet and saint. She wrote and recited Thirupavai 30 songs in favour of Thirumal.Devotees recite these songs during Margazhi month , Aandaal is known for her unwavering devotion to Lord Vishnu. The Srivilliputhur Temple is didicated to her(birth place of Andal). Adopted by her father, the famous saint Periyalvar who found her as a baby, Aandaal avoided earthly marriage, the normal and expected path for women of her culture, to "marry" Lord Vishnu, both spiritually and physically.
