Jokes, Good Thoughts

Be understanding to your perceived enemies.
Be loyal to your friends.
Be strong enough to face the world each day.
Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything alone.
Be generous to those who need your help

A young man was having some money problems,
and needed $200 to get his car fixed and roadworthy again.

But had run out of people to borrow from.

So, he calls his parents via the operator, and reverses the charge
and says to his father. "I need to borrow two hundred dollars," he says.

At the other end, his father says,
"Sorry, I can't hear you, son, I think there may be a bad line."
The boy shouts, "Two hundred. I need two hundred dollars!"
"Sorry, I still can't hear you clearly," says his father.
The operator cuts in,
"Sorry to butt in, But I can hear him perfectly clearly."
The father says, "Good. YOU send him the money!"

Walk In The Jungle

Two friends are walking in the jungle. Suddenly a tiger appears in the distance running toward them. One friend pulls a pair of 'Nikes' out of his bag and quickly puts them on. With a surprised look, the other friend says, "You don't really think you can out run that tiger with those?" "I don't need to out run the tiger", his friend replies, "I just need to run faster than you
".

A little boy was doing his math homework. He said to himself,
"Two plus five, that son of a bitch is seven. Three plus six,
that son of a bitch is nine...."
His mother heard what he was saying and gasped,
"What are you doing?"
The little boy answered,
"I'm doing my math homework, Mom."
"And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?" the mother
asked.
"Yes," he answered.
Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day,
"What are you teaching my son in math?"
The teacher replied,
"Right now, we are learning addition."
The mother asked,
"And are you teaching them to say two plus two, that son of a
bitch is four?"
After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered,
"What I taught them was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four.

Thoughts of the Day

Patience is the art of concealing your patience ( Anonymous)
It is not the standard of living that is important, but the manner of living ( Anonymous)Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling. — Margaret Lee Runbeck (1905-1956)
What you see is news, what you know is background, what you feel is opinion. — Lester Markel, American editor (1894-1977)

You can't have a better tomorrow if you are thinking about yesterday all the time. -- Charles F. Kettering
Begin doing what you want to do now. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand -- and melting like a snowflake. -- Marie Beyon Ray

If you want to be successful, it's just this simple: Know what you're doing. Love what you're doing. And believe in what you're doing. -- Will Rogers

You will find meaning in life only if you create it. It is not lying there somewhere behind the bushes, so you can go and you search a little bit and find it. It is not there like a rock that you will find. It is a poetry to be composed, it is a song to be sung, it is a dance to be danced.(unknown)

Snow Storm in NJ

Snow storm

For early December, it's a heck of a storm," Joe Bastardi, meteorologist with AccuWeather, told Reuters. "This is a major nor'easter," he said. "This could be the worst storm since December of 1981 when we had 10 to 20 inches of snowfall whipped by high winds."
New York could get up to 8 inches of snow, with parts of New England getting 12 inches or more, Bastardi said, and the Washington, D.C., area may get as much as 6 inches.

Sayings

All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore love for love's sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.

Swami Vivekananda

Truth, purity, and unselfishness- whenever these are present, there is no power below or above the sun to crush the possessor thereof. Equipped with these, one individual is able to face the whole universe in opposition

Good thoughts (not mine)

There is harmony in the home,
There will be order in the Nation
When there is order in the Nation
There will be peace in the world.

.Meditation is nothing else but rising above desires.

Service should not be exhibitionist. You must seek no reward, not even gratitude or thanks from the recipients.

Jesus renounced everything to become fit for service to Mankind.
Where there is faith, there is love,
Where there is love, there is peace
Where there is peace, there is God
Ans where there is God, there is bliss.
Real Happiness lies with in you.
Small minds select narrow roads,
expand your mental vision and
take to the road of helpfulness, compassion and service.

Have constructive thoughts'
consoling words
compassionate acts.

If there is righteous in the heart,
There will be beauty in character.
if there is beauty in character
There is harmony in the home.

Love lives by giving and forgiving'
Self lives be getting and forgetting.

The grace of God is like insurance
It will help you in your time of need without any limit.

It is not the standard of living that is important
but the manner of living.

Let the different faiths exist, let them flourish and
let the glory of God be sung in all the languages
and in a variety of tunes.

We should realize that man has not only a mind
which conceives thoughts, but also a heart
which can put them into pratice.

Guruvayur( Kerala)

Guruvayoor is among India's most important pilgrimage centres. It is known as the Dwaraka of the South. The Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, which attracts thousands of pilgrims is said to date, prior to the 16th century. Tradition has it that the temple was created by the Guru - the Preceptor of the Devas and Vayu, the Lord of the Winds. The temple is dedicated to Krishna known here as Guruvayurappan or the Lord of Guruvayur, and the idol is said to have been worshipped by Lord Brahma himself at Dwaraka. It is at this temple that Melpatur Narayan Bhattathiri composed his well-known Sanskrit devotional poem 'Narayaneeyam'. The temple is renowned for its healing powers. Several offerings are made to the deity here from the simple 'Archana' (offering of flowers) to the expensive and elaborate 'Udayastamana' pooja or 'Thulabharam' where a devotee is weighed against offering of bananas, sugar, jaggery or coconuts. Guruvayur is the site for weddings and Annaprasanam, the first feeding ceremony of a child.

The temple, according to number of devotees per day, is the fourth biggest temple in India after Badari, Puri and Thirupathi. The deity Guruvayoorappan is Lord Maha Vishnu with four arms, even though the devotees worship him as Lord Krishna, the complete man incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu. The eastern nada is the main entrance to the shrine. In the chuttambalam (outer enclosure) is the tall 33.5 m high gold plated dwajasthambam (flag post). There is also a 7 m high deepa stambham (pillar of lamps), whose thirteen circular receptacles provide a truly gorgeous spectacle when lit. The square sreekovil is the sacred sanctum Sanctorum of the temple, housing the main deity. Within the temple, there are also the images of Ganapathy, Sree Ayyappa and Edathedathy Kavil Bhagavathy. The walls of the sanctum sanctorum are inlaid with exquisite mural paintings and carvings.
